Privacy Policy

Your attention is yours. So is your data.

Last updated 31 October 2026

This policy explains what the FocusUp app and this website (focusup.app) collect, why, who helps us run them, and what you can do about it.

01Who we are

FocusUp is made by Kfir Aviya Avikassis (“FocusUp”, “we”, “us”). We decide how your data is used, which makes us the “controller” under laws like the GDPR.

Email: support@focusup.app.

02What we collect

FocusUp keeps your practice on your phone first. To back it up, sign you in and run the subscription, some of it leaves the phone:

Your account

A backup of your practice

Everything the app saves on your phone is also backed up to your account, so a new phone or a reinstall picks up where you left off. That includes:

Your journal is private: it is never shown to anyone else, and we don’t read it.

Feedback you send us

If you use “Send Feedback” in the app, we store your message with your account ID so we can follow up. If you email us, we keep the email.

Purchases

Apple processes all payments. We never see your card or bank details. Through our purchase provider, RevenueCat, we receive your subscription status and purchase history (product, price, dates, renewals and refunds), linked to your account ID.

How the app is used

We use PostHog to understand how FocusUp is used, for example which screens you open, when a challenge is completed or a gate appears, and whether a purchase step worked. These events are linked to your account ID. We use them to fix problems and improve the app, never for advertising.

What we don’t collect

We don’t collect your location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera, health data, browsing history, or your device’s advertising identifier. We don’t use advertising or data-broker tools. The Focus Score is not medical or health data. It’s a personal baseline from three short tests.

03Screen Time data

The Gate uses Apple’s Screen Time tools. When you pick apps to guard, Apple gives FocusUp only sealed tokens: FocusUp can’t see which apps you have, which ones you open, or how long you spend in them. That Screen Time information stays on your phone. It is never sent to us or anyone else.

When you choose apps, you also tap their names in FocusUp’s own list (Instagram, TikTok and so on), so the app can say “a gate for Instagram”. That name is saved in your gate history and backed up like the rest of your practice, as described above.

You can turn off FocusUp’s Screen Time access at any time in your iPhone’s Settings, under Screen Time.

07How long we keep it

08Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK or California), you may also have the right to access your data, get a copy of it, correct it, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent. To use any of these rights, email support@focusup.app from the address on your account. We’ll answer within 30 days and won’t treat you differently for asking.

If you’re unhappy with how we handled your data, you can complain to your local data protection authority. We’d appreciate the chance to fix it first.

09Security

Data travels encrypted (HTTPS). Your backup sits in a database where each account can read only its own row, and passwords are stored only as secure hashes. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will tell you if a breach affects you, as the law requires.

10Children

FocusUp is not intended for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us data, email us and we’ll delete it.

11Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change matters, for example new kinds of data or new uses, we’ll tell you in the app before it takes effect.

12Contact

Questions about your privacy: support@focusup.app. A person reads every email.
