Getting started

When can I get FocusUp?

Soon, on the App Store for iPhone. There’s no fixed date yet. Leave your email on the home page and we’ll tell you the day it’s out.

Is there an Android version?

Not yet. The Gate is built on Apple’s Screen Time tools, so iPhone comes first. Android is planned for later.

What does FocusUp cost?

It’s free to download, and your first week is free with no payment details. After that, FocusUp is a subscription, paid through Apple. Prices and trial details are in our Terms.

What is the Focus Score?

Three short tests at the start (reaction time, attention and memory) give you a personal starting point. It’s yours alone: never compared with other people, and not an IQ test or a diagnosis.

The Gate and Screen Time

How does the Gate work?

You pick the apps that pull you. When you open one, a shield appears first, and one tap takes you into a short FocusUp challenge. After it, you decide: go in, or don’t. It starts gently and grows with you.

Can FocusUp see what I do in other apps?

No. Apple’s Screen Time keeps that sealed. FocusUp only gets private tokens for the apps you pick, and can’t see which apps you open or for how long. That information never leaves your phone. The Privacy Policy has the details.

Why does FocusUp ask for Screen Time access?

It’s the only way an app can show a challenge when you open one of your chosen apps. You can turn it off any time in your iPhone’s Settings, under Screen Time. The Gate stops, and the rest of FocusUp keeps working.

Will I always be able to get into my apps?

Yes. Most of the time there’s a short challenge, and you can always finish it or hold to skip. Sometimes the answer is “not now”: your chosen apps rest for a few minutes, then open again. Only the apps you picked are affected. Calls, messages and everything else work as normal.

What if I miss a challenge?

Nothing bad happens. A miss lets you try again or shows you the answer. You can’t fail a challenge.

Account and data

I forgot my password.

On the FocusUp sign-in screen, type your email and tap “Forgot password?”. We’ll email you a link that opens a page on this site where you choose a new password. Then go back to the app and sign in.

My reset link says it has expired.

Reset links work once and only for a short time. Ask for a new one from the sign-in screen and use the newest email. If several arrived, only the last link works.

Will I lose my progress if I change phones?

No. Your practice is saved on your phone and backed up to your account. Sign in on the new phone and it comes back.

How do I delete my account?

In the app’s Settings. Deleting your account removes it and everything backed up with it. It doesn’t cancel a subscription; do that in your iPhone’s Settings (see below).

Subscription

How do I cancel?

On your iPhone, open Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → FocusUp → Cancel Subscription. Do it at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app doesn’t cancel it.

How do I get a refund?

Apple handles all payments, so refunds go through Apple: visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and choose the FocusUp purchase.

I paid, but FocusUp still shows the offer.

On the subscription screen, tap “Restore”. Make sure you’re signed in to the same Apple ID you paid with. If it still doesn’t work, write to us.
